Question 1

Is CookiePilot GDPR compliant?

Accepted Answer

Yes. CookiePilot is built around the GDPR and the European ePrivacy rules. We store consent proofs, let visitors withdraw consent whenever they like and keep the full paper trail, so you are ready if a supervisory authority (the ICO in the UK) ever asks to see it.

Question 2

Do I actually need a cookie banner?

Accepted Answer

In almost every case, yes. The ePrivacy Directive, the UK PECR and the guidance from your supervisory authority all require consent before you set non-essential cookies. CookiePilot holds those cookies back automatically until the visitor has said yes.

Question 3

Do I need any coding skills?

Accepted Answer

Not at all. You paste one line of code into your site header and handle everything else from a visual panel: colours, copy, banner position. No CSS, no JavaScript.

Question 4

How long do you keep consents on file?

Accepted Answer

We keep consent records for the period set by your plan and account policy. Every record carries a full audit trail: timestamp, banner version, the scope of consent and how it was given.

Question 5

How does the pricing work?

Accepted Answer

You pay per domain, not per subpage. The Starter plan is free up to 10,000 page views a month, and the paid plans bring unlimited page views plus extra features. No hidden charges and no sudden hikes.

Question 6

Do you support Google Consent Mode v2?

Accepted Answer

Yes, in full, all four parameters (ad_storage, analytics_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization). Google has required Consent Mode v2 since March 2024 for personalised ads across the EEA and the UK.

Question 7

Can the banner appear in my language?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can edit every word on the banner in any language through the visual editor, with no code involved.
